How do I set up a good Intelligence Feed

The Intelligence Feeds feature in AMPLYFI helps you and your organisation automate the growth of knowledge capital. Once configured, it allows you to slice and dice information in countless ways to uncover emerging trends, detect new insights, and much more. By connecting Interests with Signals, the Intelligence Feeds gather targeted information. Think of it as a Boolean "AND" query, where both components must appear for results to be collected.

How to configure Intelligence Feeds

  • Define an Interest: This is the subject or topic you’re focusing on.
  • Combine it with a Signal: This represents the type of content you want to track related to that topic.
  • Ensure your Interest uses terms or phrases likely to appear in the articles you want to read.

Example Use Cases

[Interest: "Microsoft"] AND [Signal: "Generative AI"]

Track stories related to Microsoft's activities in Generative AI.

[Interest: "Self-driving cars"] AND [Signal: "Regulation"]

Monitor developments in regulations for autonomous vehicles.

Avoiding sub-optimal setups

It’s important to configure your Intelligence Feeds with clarity and focus. Poorly defined setups may lead to irrelevant or overly broad results.

Sub-optimal example

[Interest: "Positive sentiment"] AND [Signal: "Innovation"]

This setup lacks focus. What type of positive sentiment are you tracking—about a person, product, industry, or organisation?

Improved setup

[Interest: "UK healthcare"] AND [Signal: "Positive sentiment"]

This refined setup narrows the focus to positive sentiment within the UK healthcare sector.

Sub-optimal example

[Interest: "AI regulation"] AND [Signal: "Regulation"]

This creates redundancy by tracking dual mentions of "regulation."

Improved setup

[Interest: "AI"] AND [Signal: "Regulation"]

This configuration focuses on AI and its regulatory context without duplication.
